Joseph L. Follette, Jr., is a positive upbeat individual with a warm and friendly personality. He enjoys laughter and loves to create things. Follette specializes in helping people boost their personal and interpersonal productivity.
Having completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology from Oakwood University and a Master's degree in Divinity from Andrews University, Follette served as an ordained minister and pastored several Seventh-day Adventist churches in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Mississippi.
He earned a Master's Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from The University of Southern Mississippi and practices as a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and completed several courses toward a Doctorate in Leadership from Andrews University.
Since moving to Huntsville in 1997, Follette served as an Oakwood University resident hall director. While there he created software to automate much of the residence hall administrative processes. He founded his private Marriage & Family Therapy practice where he provides individual, family and group therapy for diverse populations. He has developed several community programs such as an anger management program for the Madison City Schools and an Alabama state certified drug treatment program for the Madison County Department of Human Resources. Follette has taught classes at University of Southern Mississippi, Alabama A & M University and Huntsville Bible College. He served as Family Counselor for Bradford Health Services. He has served on the board of Madison County Coalition for Healthy Marriages. He does seminars and workshops on the topics including marriage, relationships, entreprenubusiness, health and youth.
Follette is engaged in ministry at The Net where he focuses on keepng kids off the streets and in the kingdom of heaven. He is a contract therapist counseling staff and students at Oakwood University Health & Counseling Services. He operates his private practice specializing in Weight Control Therapy and strenghthening marriages. He has developed a couple's club, Freedom Club, which is designed to free couples up to experience the love, wealth and health they deserve. Follette is married with five children. Follette's favorite passage from the Bible is "We know that all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord and are called to do his purpose". Romans 8:28 |
